Piracy is back to haunt Tamil cinema and this time around superstar Rajinikanth himself has been victimized as his yet to be released film Kabali finds itself in the world of internet, waiting to be downloaded. Yes, the full movie (censor copy) has been leaked online! Kabali (U): Book Your Tickets Right Away! Despite producer Kalaipuli S Thanu's efforts, his film was made available online as multiple download links were found in the Dark Web. Thanu had approached the High Court to prevent such illegal downloads from various websites. "They have not spared Rajinikanth either! 'Kabali' was censored in Chennai, so it had nothing to do with our office in Mumbai. Earlier there was Salman Khan's 'Sultan'. I don't think collections of films with iconic stars will get affected by the leakage. It is the smaller films featuring non-A-listers which get hit by the leakage. 'Great Grand Masti' is a case in point," Mr. Nihalani told Hindustan Times. The production house on the other hand is doing whatever it takes to stop illegal downloads. "We've contacted the authorities to pull down all these unauthorised links to the film," a source close to Thanu has said, adding that they have requested fans and movie buffs not to watch the pirated version. Of late, the censor copy of many movies have been leaked online, raising questions over Censor Board's precautionary measures to stop such illegal leaks. Though Kabali was leaked 4 days before its worldwide theatrical release, fans have expressed confidence over the film's box office performance. "#Kabali leak: It won't distract #Rajinikanth fans from watching the film. Also makers will not spare any website as they now have a court backing," a fan named Priyanka had tweeted.
